It is recommended that Landlords add photos to their listing for better advertising and faster lease up! Please note that all properties listed before Cut-off date here must be re-listed and property owners must re-register each property in order to begin listing rental units on the new system.

HASB Announces Lead Hazard Control Grant

News about HASB

Thanks to significant community support, the HASB, in partnership with the County Health Department, can announce that an additional $3.9 million in assistance will soon be available to reduce the incidents of lead poisoning and other household toxins in St. Joseph County. The HASB has been awarded a $2.48 million grant by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the Lead Based Paint Hazard Control Program of which $200,000 will go toward reducing other household toxins such as mold and asthma triggers.

As a requirement of the Grant, the HASB had to leverage significant community resources in the form of cash and in-kind commitments that together combined for an additional $1.4 million in local resources to be available for hazard reductions.

Keep watching this website for announcements for opportunities in contracting, program participation, screening, and enrollment of homes into the Programs to be offered. We will soon announce a kickoff date for the Program at which time we will be sharing in detail all of the fantastic community support that made our grant application successful.

For those homeowners wishing to enroll their homes in the Program, we have posted an application you may download and return to the HASB by clicking HERE. You must also print, sign, and return the Release of Information form HERE

You may mail the Application to: Charles McMannis, Program Director, 501 Alonzo Watson Drive, South Bend, IN 46601.
